The Frieza Race[3][4] is one of the seven races available to the player once they start the game.

Overview

Character Creation

The Frieza Race can change their skin color (only to shades of white) and their hair color (which changes the colored spot on their head). Their height, width, and hair style cannot be changed.

Physiology

The currently unclassified race, unanimously referred to as the Frieza Race, appear as anthropomorphic figures, like all playable races. Notable features about the race include armor shells that are superficially part of their natural body,[5] their horned heads, and a tail.

Their transformations drastically change their features and Bio Suits, including their height and width.

Traits

Frieza have very high ki damage thanks to their transformations' focus on it, and their transformations are tied with Namekians' for having the highest Ki Max multipliers, beaten out only by SSJBKKx10. However, its average melee damage and low resistances give the race a glass cannon play style - similar to Androids with melee damage.

Transformations

Physical Transformations

Second Form
Frieza FirstForm

Notes
Second Form is the first transformation the player can unlock.
  • Hit G to transform.
  • Multiplies Ki Max by 2x.
  • Drains 2 Ki every 2 seconds. (Minimal Ki Drain)
  • 75% EXP and Zenni gain.
  • Second Form increases the player's size, giving them a taller and bulkier appearance. Shoulder pads and a "chestplate" are applied, and the player's horns are grown. Finally, a dark blue aura is applied.

Third Form
Frieza SecondForm
Unlocked at level 100, for 10,000 Zeni.
Notes
Third Form is the second transformation the player can unlock.
  • Charge for 0.5 seconds, then hit G to transform.
  • Multiplies Ki Max by 3x.
  • Drains 4 Ki every 2 seconds. (Low Ki Drain)
  • 50% EXP and Zenni gain.
  • Like Second Form, Third Form increases the player's size, albeit smaller than their second form. The player takes on a physically dramatic change: Their tail grows to its longest, gaining a spot on the back that is the same color as their armor shells, their cranium is elongated and decorated with horns, and their shoulder pads are more prominent. Like Second Form, the player is granted a dark blue aura.

Notes
Final Form is the third transformation the player can unlock.
  • Charge for 2 Seconds, then hit G to transform.
  • Multiplies Ki Max by 5x.
  • Drains 6 Ki every 2 seconds. (Moderate Ki Drain)
  • 50% EXP and Zenni gain.
  • Unlike the other two physical transformations' grotesque and mutated forms, Final Form has a rather clean slate: The player retains their normal body and tail size, their armor shells are less prominent, and their "headgear" is replaced by a spot on their head. All clothing is blown off, leaving only the player's accessory (or accessories, if the player has Wear 2 Accessories) intact. Again, a dark blue aura is applied. This also grants the player a large amount of Ki Max.

  • Upon transformation, the player morphs into a form similar to Final Form; however, the aura, armor shells, and skin color take on a gilded complexion. Like Final Form, all clothing is blown off, leaving only the accessories intact. Finally, again like Final Form, the player's Ki Max is increased.

  • Drains 6 Ki every 2 seconds. (Moderate Ki Drain)
  • 50% EXP and Zenni gain.
  • Replaces Golden Form but Golden Form can be re-equipped by turning Perfect Golden Form off in the "Other" menu.
  • The player morphs into a form similar to that of Final Form and Golden Form. However, the gilded color schemes are brighter, and the form comes with a golden translucent bio-visor that veils their face.
  • The aura is currently the second biggest aura in the game the only transformation that has a bigger aura is Kaioken x100. This fact makes fighting more difficult.

  • Multiplies Ki Max by 5.25x.
  • Drains 6 Ki every 2 seconds. (Moderate Ki Drain)

It replaces Final Form and comes with a vast amount of ki, same as Perfect Golden Form, which can be beneficial to players journeying their way after prestiging.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Higher increases in Ki Damage and Speed than their other stats in their transformations.
    • This means that Frieza tend to be more agile in their transformations.
  • Highest Ki Max in their forms.
  • A unique, ki-based play-style.
  • Post-Earth Quests are incredibly easy with ki thanks to their boosts, allowing them to be incredibly effective for running through the game.
  • Good base form.
  • Easily has the most unique forms design-wise.
  • If developed right can be really good and counter other races.
  • Not many people know how to counter them based on their Ki based playstyle.

Cons

  • They can have an incredibly difficult time doing Tournament of Power, True Tournament of Power, and in the Dimensional Rift, due to the ineffectiveness of Ki Damage on most NPCs, who constantly vanish behind the player.
  • Due to the nerfs to red senzus (from around November 23rd, 2019), their damage potential with them is lower than most other races.
  • Cooler form and Golden Cooler form's tails clip into the ground very often, reducing ease of dodging and movement on the ground.
  • Despite their forms focusing on ki and ki damage they arent the best at what they focus on making it extremely difficult to play as them.
  • their forms are very weak and due to the lack of damage that most Ki moves can deal to npcs where to put points can be difficult to know
  • Due to how weak this race seems to be the race doesn't have a lot of members meaning that you have to have a fair bit of experience to know what to do with this race.
  • Arguably the weakest race in the game, due to their low transformation boost, and practically being forced to go for a Ki build.
  • Earth has incredibly high ki damage resistance, meaning starting out will be the most painful out of any race.

Bugs

  • The race's modeled tail and bio-suit cause issues when close to physical objects, causing them to clip into the ground or slide around when charging. This can also result in a completely broken speed glitch when vanishing/dodging making the player go faster then z vanish.
  • The increase in size caused by many of their transformations causes issues when flying around other players close to the ground, causing sliding and clipping.
  • Sometimes gain heath and Ki seemingly by random.

Trivia

  • A Level 500 Frieza without Prestige would have a combined maximum stats of 2,251 points. Adding Perfect Golden Form makes it 3,651.
  • Frieza Race members can equip in-game torso attire over their Final, Fifth, and Golden Forms by simply equipping the desired outfit while transformed.
  • No one uses Ki damage on this race unlike what it was made for.
  • Frieza Race has the most physical changes in their forms, varying from their tail, height, head, and their torso.
  • The Frieza Race has no official name, though is commonly dubbed the "Frieza Race". Other media (such as Dragon Ball Fusions) refer the race to as Frieza's, Frost Demons, and/or Aliens.[4] On Namek, there are numerous "Frost Demon" NPCs which appear to be of the Frieza race.
    • In the Malaysian dub of Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge, the race is called Glaeris, which is most likely a pun on the word "glacier".[4]
    • Numerous fans of Dragon Ball Z refer to the race as Arcosians (sometimes misspelled as "Acrosians"). However, it's confirmed that Frieza and Arcosians are completely different races.[7]
  • The Frieza Race holds the honor of being the playable race with the second-highest Ki Max, along with Namekians.
  • Previously in Dragon Ball Z Final Stand, Perfect Golden Form used to be called "Perfected Golden Form".
  • Differences between the Frieza Race in the anime/manga and the game include:
    • It is implied by Frieza that members of his race can survive wounds regardless of how fatal.[4] However, in the game, the Frieza race lacks resistance and can be killed just as any other.
    • It is implied in some media that tails of Frieza Race members can be consumed to gain more power.[4] This feature is omitted in the game.
    • Unlike the game, the Frieza Race drastically varies in size and skin color.
    • It is implied by Frieza that his "Final Form" is his true form, and the previous transformations were created by him to suppress his power. This is untrue in the game.
  • Friezas are debated to be the weakest race due to no ability and none of their forms being exceptional
  • Despite SSJ being considered equal to final form in the anime, in the game final form is equal to SSJ3 instead. Alongside friezas stronger base stat it seems to be that friezas are definitively stronger early game.
